The Esteemed Green Business Summit is Presented by Toyota Motor North America
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – Today, the Environmental Media Association (EMA) officially announced the speakers and panelists for its 8th annual EMA IMPACT summit on June 4-5th at the Pendry West Hollywood, CA. The renowned two-day event unites the biggest names in entertainment with innovators, entrepreneurs, creatives, and corporations across industries and generations to discuss bringing sustainability to the forefront.
During the closing plenary, Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton will join EMA to dive into the devasting effects of climate change on early childhood development and how her work through the Clinton Foundation’s Too Small to Fail initiative is advancing new solutions. A lifelong champion and advocate for young children's brain and healthy development, Secretary Clinton will focus on climate storytelling from a new frame, expanding on the silent crisis impacting pregnant women and young children.
The EMA IMPACT Summit provides an engaging space for dynamic conversations, keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking opportunities around sustainability initiatives and actionable solutions. This year’s summit will mark the 20th anniversary of the coveted EMA Green Seal program. EMA created the sustainable production standard that is now adopted by studios and productions worldwide. At EMA IMPACT, dedicated panels will delve into the program’s evolution over the years and the widespread adaptation of sustainability practices in the entertainment industry.
“We are delighted to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the inaugural EMA Greens Seals that were first presented at the EMA Awards Gala back in 2004,” said Debbie Levin, EMA CEO. “After realizing there was a critical need for industry oversight in the production sector in 2003, the EMA Board of Directors met and established our EMA Green Seal guidelines to propel the industry towards sustainable actions behind the scenes.”
This year’s diverse EMA IMPACT program includes an exciting variety of panels, including but not limited to:
Protecting What We Love: Actor and activist Rainn Wilson will moderate a chat with representatives from consumer brands, Tony’s Chocoloney and Rodney Strong Vineyards, around their organic products and practices.
Chills For Change: Creator and Director of hit crime TV series True Detective, Issa Lopez and Director and Screenwriter Eli Roth (Thanksgiving, Godzilla: King of Monsters, and Cabin Fever) discuss inputting climate messaging into horror and thriller projects.
